Interviewing in shopping malls is a low cost means of conducting sensory testing a controlled environment. This could involve taste tests, concept tests, packaging tests and tests of advertising. Mall FacilitiesTNS Canadian Facts’ Consumer Opinion Centre (COC) comprises the most extensive and comprehensive mall facilities in Canada. Permanent locations are available in several major centres across Canada. When interviewing is required in other cities, TNS Canadian Facts draws on its national door-to-door interviewing staff to set up facilities on a short-term basis. In addition, COC employs its own experienced support staff whose exclusive function is to execute, monitor and control all mall surveys conducted by TNS Canadian Facts. These staff members are located in our offices in Toronto and Montreal. The skills developed by COC over more than 30 years of experience ensure the best possible control on all studies. CAPI InterviewingComputer-assisted personal interviewing (CAPI) is also available in our COC malls. This technology allows both better data collection and faster turnaround. Interviewers do not have to worry about complex skips or question rotations — all are handled by the computer program. Graphics and multimedia displays can be incorporated directly into CAPI questionnaires.
